Experience the FLOW (STRAUME)
like never before

A musical journey
The Oscar-winning animated film “Flow” returns to Latvia with a unique concert experience
In May next year, Latvia will host the concert premiere of the Oscar-winning animated film “Flow”—a special event that combines cinema and live music into one captivating experience. The world-renowned film’s director Gints Zilbalodisand composer Rihards Zaļupe invite audiences to a concert where the film will be shown on the big screen accompanied by a live acoustic score performed by the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra. Tickets for the concert, taking place on May 23 at Xiaomi Arena in Riga, are available starting today.
The film’s composer, Rihards Zaļupe, has created a special acoustic instrumentation for the orchestral version, offering a completely new sonic experience.
The concert’s sound direction is led by the experienced sound artist Normunds Slava, whose precision and musical sensitivity help craft a full and multi-dimensional audio environment.
The Flow concert tour has already earned global recognition. More than 5,000 people attended the sold-out premieres in Seattle and San Diego, where audiences greeted the performers with prolonged standing ovations. This spring, the tour continues in Taiwan before heading to Riga for its exclusive Baltic appearance.
The “Flow” concert is an invitation to celebrate the meeting of cinema and live music — to experience the film in a new way, as a unified visual and musical journey.

Our Mission
Film director Gints Zilbalodis acknowledges that this project is especially meaningful to him:
“I am incredibly excited about the live orchestra experience of “Flow”! This is a story told without words, which means that the music plays a much more significant role than in most films. “Flow” began as a small and personal project for me, but it has found an incredibly large audience around the world, which has allowed us to create this kind of concert — and that feels truly special.”
I am eagerly looking forward to the performance of the “Flow” concert in Latvia. I have created a special acoustic instrumentation in which a wide range of percussion and keyboard instruments play a very important role, intertwining with the dynamic sounds of the extensive string and wind sections. And these concerts will be a very special event for me, as I will stand before the orchestra and the audience as a conductor for the first time! It will be the same film, but with a completely new experience. See you at the concert!” invites Rihards Zaļupe.
